With over 20 years of experience as an educator, Dr. Blackburn has had the priviledge of working in diverse settings including K-12, special education and higher education. She is a firm believer in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and is committed to ensuring that all learners can access and engage in content in meaningful ways. A UDL perspective has guided most of her work, including her role as co-founder of The Gloss Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of a new reading method for deaf students who sign.
